Whoa, we're (I’m) half way there!
I’m past the halfway point! My goal was always to finish this quilt up within the first few months of the BOM so that everyone could see a finished quilt and maybe get some inspiration. At the end of December 2025 I had made it a goal to finish by the end of February. I’m about a week ahead of my own schedule, but with life and going to school full time it could very well turn into me finishing at the original date.
I didn’t go with the color flow of the design as you can see, and I’m really enjoying the semi-scrappy but cohesiveness of using mostly one fabric line. So far my favorite blocks are the Half Block 1, Block 6 (dark green star centered block), and Block 10 (dark blue edge blue crossover center). I have had fun sewing up all of the blocks, but visually those blocks are my favorite thus far for various reasons.
I have been struggling to come up with a plan for Block 12, but I think I have finally found my desired fabrics and layout. I was so stuck on this one I went a head and started sewing up Block 13 first. I do have a color “plan” for this quilt but it is more of a roadmap and not a very obvious one.

As you can see I mostly have everything figured out for what I’m doing fabric wise, but I still need to figure out Block 16. I’m also starting to think about how I’m going to quilt this, and I might drop her off with my local long-armer again so I can focus on my sample for Flores, and hopefully make and release a bag pattern!
The bag pattern will have 2 options, 1 with an EPP design and the 2nd with all machine pieced sections. The bag will honestly be a whole blog post in and of its self. I Will most likely make a blog for non BOM content so everyone can see what’s going on here at Wayward Threads & Paper Co.

I’m really enjoying seeing everyone’s Pop Rocks Blocks 1&2 this month. February physical kits will be sent out next week, and I’m going to send the digital pdfs out on Jan 31st since it’s a Saturday.
